What are the benefits?
- It entitles a solo parent to an additional seven days of vacation leave aside from the regular vacation and sick leave (after at least a year of service)
- It entitles a solo parent to have a flexible work schedule as long as it does not affect the company’s productivity.
- A comprehensive livelihood package that provides training sessions on livelihood skills, basic business management, value orientation and the provision of seed capital or job placement.
- Psychological assistance to solo parents and their families through free counseling which focuses on relationships and conflicts; preventive stress management, early childhood development, behavior management, and child health care.
- For families who need protection, the DSWD offers temporary shelter, legal assistance, medical care, and seminars on improving self confidence, crisis management, and spiritual enrichment.
- Children of Solo Parent can also benefit as TESDA, CHED and DECS are required to provide basic, tertiary and technical skills education to these children.
